Easterseals PORT Health, a non-profit service provider in North Carolina & Virginia, is seeking a dedicated, people-oriented Credentialed Work Incentive Practitioner (CWIP) to join our team. This Full-Time opportunity offers flexible schedule Mon-Fri, competitive salary and full benefits. Community-based role requires travel throughout Raleigh, NC and surrounding area. What You’ll Do as a Certified Benefits Professional:

The Credentialed Work Incentive Practitioner (CWIP) performs as an integral part of the IPS and Employment Services programs working with adults receiving IPS/Supported Employment services.  The purpose of this position is to provide counseling and assistance to Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) disability beneficiaries who are working with the IPS and Supported Employment teams.

  • Provides guidance on benefits, work incentives, and employment services available to individuals.
  • Provides planning and assistance to individuals with disabilities, and their families, who are potentially eligible to participate in Federal and State work incentive programs.
  • Provides presentations and trainings to teams regarding basic SSI/SSDI benefits.
  • Provides information to individuals on health benefits coverage options that may be available.
  • Participates in Fidelity Review interview process for each IPS team
  • Maintains good work habits regarding attendance, punctuality, appearance and effective working relationships with co-workers and individuals being supported.
  • Attends weekly team meetings when necessary.

      What We’re Looking For in a Certified Benefits Professional:

      • HS Diploma required. Associates or Bachelors degree in related field preferred.
      • Benefit Counseling certification from State of North Carolina or national accreditation.
      • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working with adults with mental health disabilities is preferred.
      • Knowledge of the service system, benefits, entitlements and supports utilized by people with disabilities.
      • Possesses a valid, unrestricted, state appropriate driver’s license, has a good driving record and carries current, unrestricted vehicle insurance.
      • Willing to travel within assigned territory to support community-based program
