This full-time role is designed for a licensed mental health clinician who will work remotely, specializing in providing telehealth services to young patients and their families in Guilderland, New York. Work Environment

The position allows for a fully remote work setting, utilizing telehealth platforms to connect with patients. While you will primarily work Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, flexibility is important as occasional evening shifts may be required based on patient schedules. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments to identify the needs and concerns of children and adolescents.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that cater to the unique developmental stages of each patient, incorporating family dynamics into the therapeutic process.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions for a variety of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders, ensuring high efficacy in treatment.
  • Facilitate family therapy sessions aimed at equipping parents and caregivers with the tools and strategies needed to foster a nurturing environment for their children.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including child psychiatrists, to ensure coordinated care and comprehensive support for patients.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support during mental health emergencies, demonstrating sound judgement and clinical skills.
  • Educate patients and their families on mental health disorders, treatment options, and community resources to empower them in their journey toward wellness.
  • Maintain precise and confidential documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems effectively.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and case consultations, contributing to a culture of continuous professional development and best practice sharing.
  • Stay current with the latest research and trends in child and adolescent psychiatry, integrating new knowledge and approaches into practice.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on children and adolescents ranging from ages 5 to 18 who are facing diverse mental health challenges. Our patients may present symptoms of anxiety, depression, ADHD, and various behavioral issues, highlighting the importance of sensitivity and a tailored approach to treatment. Collaborating with families is also crucial, as they play a key role in the therapeutic process and ultimate success of the patient’s treatment plan.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in New York State is required.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of child and adolescent mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment methodologies.
  • Proven experience delivering both individual and group therapy to children and adolescents.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with an empathetic, child-centered approach.
  • Ability to establish rapport and build trust with patients and families through effective therapeutic engagement.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and competent in using various computer applications.
  • A collaborative spirit, with willingness to work harmoniously within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in providing behavioral therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of community resources available to support children and families in mental health care.
  • Previous experience in a telehealth setting is highly desirable.
