Medical Secretary Full-time: Monday-Friday; 1-2 evening shifts per week, required. Rotate 1 Saturday per month, every 6-8 months Salary: $25.46/hour Bethpage, NY Must be flexible in rotating to our other clinic locations as needed: Hauppauge/Seaford The Charles Evans Center (CEC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center, providing comprehensive medical, dental and mental health services. The mission of Charles Evans Center (CEC) is to provide high quality, comprehensive healthcare to underserved community members with limited incomes including those with autism, learning and developmental disabilities, and behavioral and mental health concerns. We are currently seeking an experienced full-time Medical Secretary to provide services to Charles Evans Center patients at our Bethpage clinic. In this vital role, you will:
  • Greet patients in a friendly manner and efficiently register them in the electronic health records system (EHR).
  • Register new patients in EHR which includes accurate data entry, form completion, and insurance verification.
  • Collect patient payments and process sliding fee discount, as required.
  • Receive and triage phone calls and messages.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all visitors and staff in order to promote an environment of service excellence.
  • Accurately schedule, re-schedule and confirm appointments.
We require:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration or related field preferred. Or, high school diploma/equivalent with relevant experience.
  • Ability to multi-task while providing high level customer service.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Prior call center experience preferred.
  • Computer literate with excellent data entry skills.
