THE ROLE

Insomniac is looking for a Merchandise Accountant to support operations including month-end close, reporting and analysis, and day-to-day activity. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, have a strong accounting background, strong communication skills and be very well organized. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Event Accounting.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee month-end close process for festival and e-commerce merchandise
  • Prepare journal entries for merchandise inventory, COGS, and accruals
  • Reconcile inventory, received not invoiced account, and artist royalty payments
  • Review, code, and approve AP invoices for merchandise related expenses
  • Partner with merchandise department on new initiatives and any discrepancies
  • Perform month-end close tasks in accordance with GAAP and SOX requirements
  • Streamline and create new processes

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, CPA preferred
  • 3+ years of accounting experience or related experience, preferably in cost accounting and inventory management
  • Experience with Acumatica preferred
  • Advanced technical skills, including Excel and ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP and reporting software
  • Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels & busy environments
  • Must be willing to work during evening and weekend hours, as required, to meet deadlines

Salary Pay Range: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 USD
