Job Description

Deciphera is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Territory Manager with a passion for building customer partnerships and preparing for the anticipated launch ofย tirabrutinib, a highly potent and selective Bruton tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitor being advanced for patients with relapsed or refractory primary central nervous system lymphoma (R/R PCNSL). PCNSL is a rare and aggressive extra-nodal non-Hodgkin lymphoma with significant unmet need, andย tirabrutinibย representsย an important potential new treatmentย optionย for patients facing limited therapeutic choices. Theย Territory Managerย willย be responsible forย developing and executing a territory business plan, building strong relationships with key customers and treatment centers, and partnering closely with cross-functional stakeholders to support launch readiness and help bringย tirabrutinibย to patients in need. This role requires the ability toย provide disease education on PCNSL,ย communicate the clinical profile ofย tirabrutinib, describe pivotal data in a clear and compelling manner, and address both clinical and non-clinical barriers that mayย impactย treatment adoption and patient access. The Territory Manager will also be expected to bring forward market insights, adapt quickly to changing launch dynamics, and contribute to a seamless experience for providers and patients within the assigned geography.ย 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:ย ย 

  • Develop and execute a strategic territory business plan aligned to brandย objectivesย and tailored to the needs of customers, accounts, and treatment centers within the assigned geography.ย 

  • Build strong relationships with hematology/oncology healthcare professionals, key accounts, and otherย appropriate stakeholdersย to support disease state education, product readiness, and accessย forย patients who mayย benefitย fromย tirabrutinib.ย 

  • Communicate the clinical profile ofย tirabrutinib, present pivotal trial data clearly and credibly, and address clinical and non-clinical barriers in a meaningful way with customers involved inย hematologyย patient care.ย 

  • Build,ย maintain, and apply deep clinical and businessย expertiseย related to PCNSL, the treatment landscape, competitive dynamics, customer segment needs, local market access, and the broader marketplace.ย 

  • Identifyย territory opportunities and barriers to patient access, synthesize market insights, and use those insights to inform territory execution and cross-functional collaboration.ย 

  • Develop account and prescriber action plans with clearย objectives, use data and analytics to assess trends and progress, and adjust plans as needed to address evolving market conditions and business dynamics.ย 

  • Collaborate effectively with internal partners including Marketing, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Commercial Operations, and other field-based colleagues to support coordinated execution, launch readiness, and a seamless experience for providers and patients.ย 

  • Provide field feedback and contribute to the development of resources, tools, and processes that support launch execution, field effectiveness, and customer engagement.ย 

  • Demonstrate strong understanding of the patient journey, treatment landscape, access and reimbursement considerations, and distribution dynamics relevant to the assigned territory.ย 

  • Use CRM and other available tools to support effective territory planning, customer engagement, and execution of business priorities.ย 

  • Execute all activities in a compliant, ethical, and patient-focused manner consistent with company values and policies.ย 

Qualifications
  • BS/BA degree in business, life sciences, or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.ย 

  • 8+ย yearย pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience, includingย 5+ years of direct sales experienceย inย malignantย hematology.ย 

  • Experience in rareย disease, and/or oral oncolytic markets is strongly preferred.ย 

  • Candidateย mustย resideย within the assigned territory.ย ย Additionallyย residing withinย approximatelyย 50 miles of the primary business hub or area whereย the majority ofย customer activity is concentrated is preferred.ย ย For this territory,ย the majority ofย customer activity is concentrated nearย Lansing, Detroit, and Indianapolis.ย 

  • Ability to understand, interpret, and communicate complex clinical information and pivotal data in a clear, credible, and impactful manner with a range of oncology stakeholders.ย 

  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with key customers, treatment centers, and account stakeholders in complex specialty markets.ย 

  • Strong understanding of the sales process, including patient identification, clinical conviction, access and reimbursement considerations, and distribution dynamics.ย 

  • Strong business acumen and ability to use data, analytics, and market insights to inform account planning and territory execution.ย 

  • Experience working cross-functionally with partners such as Marketing, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Sales Operations, and Training to support businessย objectivesย and field effectiveness.ย 

  • Launch experience in specialty, oncology, hematology, or other complex markets is preferred.ย 

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze business needs, apply market insights, and execute effectively in complex or competitive environments.ย 

  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and influence without authority.ย 

  • Ability to adapt to change, manage competing priorities, andย operateย effectively in a fast-paced, evolving launch environment.ย 

  • Must consistently act with high ethical standards andย maintainย a strong commitment to compliance.ย 

  • Must have a valid driver's license and ability to travel within the assigned territory as needed.ย

Additional Information

Deciphera is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary pay range for this role is $176,800 - $243,236. Actual compensation packages will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to depth of experience, education, skillset, overall performance and/or location.
