The Security Manager provides strategy and activities related to information security and physical security of the property(s). The Security Manager provides leadership and direction to a team responsible for designing and implementing an overall enterprise security strategy, program and architecture that minimizes information related to loss and meets client and regulatory requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in loss control procedures.
  • Coordinates information from the VP and other supervisors with the Security staff that meets all Fairstead Management requirements.
  • Develop Security staff through training and example.
  • Ensure correct and orderly flow of activities from shift to shift.
  • Lead investigations of security matters.
  • Monitor shift security reports and activity logs.
  • Supervise shift activity, including reports and incidents, patrolling, dispatching, activity logs, and all other activity on shift
  • Effectively coach, council and review the performance of guards to ensure they are properly and effectively conducting their day-to-day duties.
  • Make recommendations regarding security matters.
  • Maintain current certification in first-aid and CPR.
  • Understand and be able to apply effective apprehension techniques and arrest procedures in accordance with State Criminal Procedure Law and Penal Law.
  • Know fire procedures.
  • Ensure that the Security staff maintain a high visibility profile throughout the community.
  • Make periodic community patrols including guard area, package rooms, outer perimeters of property, parking lots, and facilities of resident access. 
  • Relay pertinent information to relief shift.
  • Be able to administer first-aid when necessary.
  • Recognize and report safety hazards.
  • Monitor energy conservation controls and implement corrective action when necessary.
  • Maintain effective communications with all managers and employees.
  • Effectively handle any Security related situations that arise on their shift, keeping the best interests of the community in mind.
  • Ensure compliance with FM (Facility Management) and Security S.O.P.s and L.S.O.P.s.
  • Observe and report any security breaches.
  • Assist GM in any other areas deemed applicable.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have at least 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Must have strong working knowledge of pertinent law and the law enforcement community.
  • Must have experience with business continuity planning, investigations, risk management etc.
  • Great Communication and Interpersonal Skills.
  • Knowledgeable in information technology and information security.
  • Ability to effectively evaluate and assess immediate security needs and requirements.
  • Ability to handle company confidentiality and sensitivity of security issues.
  • Valid NY State Security License required.
  • Certified in First Aid and CPR.
  • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, vendors, and associates.
  • Accurate with a strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Salary Range
$83,000—$85,000 USD
