Location: East Coast, United States (Travel to Cleveland, OH Required)
Work Model: Hybrid / Travel-Based
Duration: 9 months (with possible extensions)
Industry:ย Industrial Manufacturing / Discrete Manufacturing
Employment Type: C2C or 1099 only
Rate: $95โ€“110/hour, depending on experience

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not available for this engagement.

About the Opportunity

Our client is supporting a European industrial manufacturing company with operations in the Cleveland, Ohio area as part of a major ERP transformation initiative.

The U.S. manufacturing site is preparing to align with an established global ERP core model developed in France. This engagement will focus on evaluating existing U.S. business processes, conducting a comprehensive fit-gap analysis, and preparing the organization for a successful ERP rollout.

This is not a traditional PMO coordination role. We are seeking a hands-on ERP Project Manager with direct experience leading ERP fit-gap assessments and deploying global ERP templates into local manufacturing environments.

The client is looking to move quickly with the right candidate.

Work Location & Travel

Candidates may be located anywhere within the Eastern United States, provided they are able to travel regularly to Cleveland, Ohio.

During the first one to two months of the project, the Project Manager is expected to spend approximately 50% of their time onsite facilitating workshops and working directly with business stakeholders.

Following the initial discovery phase, travel will decrease to approximately once per month for the remainder of the engagement.

All approved business travel expenses, including airfare, hotel accommodations, meals, and related travel costs, will be fully reimbursed.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced ERP Project Manager to lead the fit-gap analysis between a global ERP core model and the current ERP processes of a U.S. manufacturing operation.

This role requires someone who understands how global ERP templates are assessed, adapted, and deployed across local business operations while balancing business requirements with standardized enterprise processes.

The successful candidate will work directly with U.S. manufacturing leadership and French/global ERP stakeholders to evaluate current-state processes, identify gaps, facilitate workshops, document recommendations, and support rollout planning.

This is a highly collaborative, business-facing role requiring both strong ERP project leadership and excellent stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the fit-gap analysis between the global ERP core model and current U.S. manufacturing processes.
  • Assess current-state business processes and compare them against the global ERP template.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and communicate business process, functional, system, and integration gaps.
  • Facilitate fit-gap workshops with U.S. business users, ERP teams, and French/global stakeholders.
  • Partner with stakeholders across manufacturing, production, supply chain, procurement, inventory management, finance, and operations.
  • Translate business requirements into structured documentation for the ERP implementation team.
  • Manage project decisions, risks, dependencies, action items, and follow-up activities.
  • Support rollout readiness, implementation planning, and change management activities.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between local business users, ERP implementation teams, and project leadership.
  • Help navigate cross-cultural collaboration between French and U.S. teams while balancing global standards with local business requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Proven ERP Project Management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading ERP fit-gap analysis, business process assessments, or ERP transformation initiatives.
  • Direct experience deploying a global ERP template or core model into local business operations.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing or discrete manufacturing business processes.
  • Experience working across production, supply chain, procurement, inventory, BOMs, routings, finance, and shop-floor operations.
  • Experience supporting ERP implementations, global rollouts, upgrades, or business transformation initiatives.
  • Excellent workshop facilitation, stakeholder management, and business process documentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to travel regularly to Cleveland, Ohio during the initial phase of the engagement.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with one or more of the following ERP platforms:

  • Infor LN / Baan
  • Infor CloudSuite
  • SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA
  • Oracle ERP
  • Microsoft Dynamics AX / D365
  • Other comparable manufacturing ERP platforms

Additionally preferred:

  • Experience supporting European-to-U.S. ERP deployment projects.
  • Experience working with global ERP templates or enterprise core models.
  • Experience collaborating with international stakeholders, particularly across Europe and North America.
  • Background in industrial manufacturing, mechanical assembly, equipment manufacturing, or discrete manufacturing.
Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hands-on ERP Project Manager or ERP Transformation Lead who has successfully led global ERP rollout initiatives within manufacturing environments.

They understand how to:

  • Evaluate and challenge existing local business processes.
  • Assess fit between a global ERP core model and local operations.
  • Lead structured fit-gap workshops with business stakeholders.
  • Translate findings into actionable ERP and business requirements.
  • Balance technical, operational, and organizational priorities throughout an ERP transformation.
  • Navigate cross-cultural collaboration between global and local teams while driving project execution.
Compensation & Benefits
  • $95โ€“110/hour (C2C or 1099 only, based on experience)
  • 9-month engagement with potential extensions
  • Fully reimbursed business travel (airfare, hotel, meals, and approved travel expenses)
  • Opportunity to lead a high-impact ERP transformation initiative for a global manufacturing organization
