Job description

Palatine Nursing Home is currently seeking an Enviormental Assistant to become a part of our small 70 bed long/short term care facility. Our facility is located just minutes off the NYS Thruway, Exit 29, Canajoharie.

This person will work under the supervision of our Enviornmental Director.

General maintenance and repair experience needed. Experience is a nursing home preffered but not required.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Must operate machinery and equipment, maintain in good repair, and store in an orderly fashion.
  • Be able to handle and use simple electrical and plumbing equipment and make minor repairs.
  • Be able to carry, push, and pull large equipment in and out of facility.
  • Ensure that facility grounds are neat and in order.
  • Assist with Preventative Maintenance duties as instructed.
  • Painting, touch up painting, drywall
  • Housekeeping

Requirements include but are not limited to:

  • Must be able to lift at least 50 or more lbs.
  • Frequent standing, kneeling, stooping, bending, walking are required.
  • Must be reliable and have transportation
