Job description

Per Diem Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping)

Atlantic Health Chilton Medical Center is seeking a Per Diem Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping) for the Environmental Services Department. Required hours vary, including every other weekend. Starting rate $21.21/hr.

This position is eligible for the Atlantic Health System #teenhiring initiative (specific shifts).

Essential Function/Responsibilities:

  • General cleaning, empty trash, high/low dusting, mop floors, sanitize all furniture in patient rooms, clean commode, clean bathrooms and discard debris, remove soiled linen and replace with fresh linen in patient rooms.
  • EVS Aide will also need to work at Union Campus.
  • Position includes cleaning of bodily fluids.

Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required or will obtain within 1 year of employment.
  • To provide a safe environment to our patients, we require that all candidates must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Solid work history a must.
  • Need to meet the fit testing requirement.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be 16 or older (prior to hire, must complete NJA300 Combined Certification Form/Working Papers).
  • If 16 or 17 years-old, valid working papers required.

Relevant Experience:

  • Prior experience in housekeeping in either a hospital or institutional setting or a related field preferred.
  • Prior floor-care experience preferred.
  • 1-2 years of customer service experience in healthcare, hospitality or relevant area preferred.
