The Environmental Services (EVS) Technician plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This position directly contributes to infection prevention and control, ensuring our facility upholds the highest standards of hygiene. You impact patient recovery and overall well-being by creating a pristine and welcoming space. Your dedication to cleanliness supports our mission to provide exceptional care in a healthy setting.
As an EVS Technician, you perform essential tasks that ensure a sterile and organized environment. You execute daily cleaning schedules for patient rooms, offices, and common areas, consistently meeting our high standards. You manage and dispose of various waste streams, including biohazard materials, following strict protocols. You operate specialized cleaning equipment and handle chemicals safely, always prioritizing safety. Your work directly contributes to preventing the spread of infection and maintaining a positive experience for everyone in our facility.
Required Qualifications
Education
  • Possesses a high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience
  • Demonstrates previous experience in environmental services, housekeeping, or a related field is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Holds prior experience in a healthcare or hospital setting.

  • Applies effective Sanitation and Disinfection techniques.
  • Knows proper Waste Management and Biohazard Waste Disposal procedures.
  • Follows detailed Cleaning Procedures and schedules.
  • Adheres to all Safety Protocols and guidelines.
  • Practices safe Chemical Handling and storage.
  • Operates various Equipment Operation for cleaning and floor care.
  • Exhibits strong Attention to Detail and thoroughness in all tasks.
  • Communicates clearly and respectfully with others.
  • Works effectively as part of a team.
Physical Requirements/Work Conditions
  • Stands and walks for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Bends, stoops, kneels, reaches, and twists frequently.
  • Lifts and moves equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Pushes and pulls carts and equipment.
  • Works with various cleaning chemicals and solutions.
  • Works in an environment that may involve exposure to bodily fluids, waste, and infectious materials.
  • Performs tasks requiring repetitive motions.
