Job description


About This Role

The teacher selected for this position will be responsible for general supervision and management of children ages 6 weeks to 24 months. The teacher will provide individualized care, happiness and safety to each child. Must be able to work 6:30-12:30 or 12:30-6:00.


What You'll Do
  • Provide a safe and caring environment
  • Aid in infant development
  • Monitor age appropriate milestone achievements
  • Create age appropriate activities
  • Give bottles and feedings as provided by the guardians
  • Soothe infants by singing and/or rocking
  • Supervise infants while playing on the floor with age appropriate toys
  • Follow safe sleep practices for crib naps
  • Keep daily reports for the parents

Requirements
  • Ensure play, sleep, and changing areas are kept clean
  • Ensure toys and bedding are cleaned daily
  • Complete all mandatory training

Nice To Haves

We are a ministry of Centerville Baptist Church and have been one of the longest running programs in the Chesapeake area; 66 years and counting! It is our mission for all children enrolled in the program to know they are loved by God exactly as they are. We lovingly accept children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old. Centerville Baptist Children's Program offers preschool, kindergarten, and childcare for these ages. Every child is special, loved, and cared for by our dedicated and experienced staff.
