Job description

Title: Entry-Level Accountant
Location: Metz Culinary Management Corporate Headquarters, Dallas, Pa
Metz Culinary Management is growing and we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Entry Level Staff Accountant to join our finance team. If you are a recent grad and interested in learning and growing in the Contract Dining Services Industry, we would love to hear from you.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop foundational accounting skills while supporting various financial operations across different sectors, including corporate, non-profit, and governmental organizations. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, possess strong analytical abilities, and have a passion for numbers and financial accuracy. You will play a key part in maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing and analyzing financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory requirements.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including account reconciliations such as balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation.
  • Enter journal entries accurately into accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or PeopleSoft, ensuring proper debits and credits are applied.
  • Help with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing to ensure timely payments and collections.
  • Contribute to bank reconciliation activities and cash flow analysis to monitor financial health.
  • Support audit preparations by gathering documentation and assisting with internal controls related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance.
  • Collaborate with senior accountants on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis projects to develop a deeper understanding of financial concepts.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles such as double entry bookkeeping, accrual accounting, and financial statement preparation.
  • Familiarity with accounting software like QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or PeopleSoft is a plus.
