Theย UPS Store Sales Associate's primary role is toย deliver world-class customer serviceย while assisting clients with a variety of business needs, including shipping, packing, and printing services.ย

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service:ย Greeting customers, identifying their needs, answering questions about products and services, and resolving inquiries or concerns.
  • Shipping and Packaging:ย Receiving, processing, and packing packages securely for courier shipment using established procedures. This includes generating shipping labels and handling damaged shipment claims.
  • Print and Document Services:ย Operating copiers, fax machines, printers, binding equipment, and laminating machines. This may involve basic graphic arts tasks and preparing documents for customer print orders.
  • Mailbox Services:ย Receiving, sorting, and placing mail and packages into customer mailboxes.
  • Sales and Operations:ย Operating the point-of-sale (POS) system, handling cash and credit card transactions accurately, and actively cross-selling and up-selling products and services.
  • Store Maintenance:ย Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment, stocking shelves, and assisting with merchandising displays.
  • End-of-Day Duties:ย Performing opening and/or closing procedures, including reconciling cash, checks, and credit card transactions.ย

Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Education:ย A high school diploma or GED is typically required.
  • Experience:ย Previous retail, customer service, or a related sales experience is preferred, though some locations offer entry-level positions with no experience required.
  • Technical Skills:ย Basic computer knowledge, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and internet applications, is necessary. The ability to quickly learn new software (shipping and POS systems) is essential.
