Jr Accountant - AP Entry Level Location: Carson (Fully Onsite) Pay: $24-26/hour (based on experience) Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business is required Contract to Hire Accounting, Typing, and Excel assessment will be given
Role Overview:
Seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to support accounts payable operations, financial reporting, and compliance tasks within a non-profit setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable:
  • Process high-volume AP transactions across multiple departments.
  • Maintain and update vendor records, ensuring compliance with W9 & 1099 requirements.
  • Review and code invoices for accuracy and proper account allocation.
  • Ensure all financial transactions follow company policies and procedures.
  • Track sales tax records for quarterly reporting.
  • Generate payments, prepare supporting documentation, and handle check processing.
  • Investigate and resolve AP discrepancies and outstanding payments.
  • Serve as the primary contact for AP-related inquiries.
  • Standardize reimbursement and petty cash procedures across units.
  • Organize and maintain voucher records and supporting documents.
  • Perform monthly AP aging report reconciliations.
  • Process corporate credit card expenses, reimbursements, and petty cash transactions.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Prepare journal entries for prepayments, accruals, and expense allocations.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts related to AP.
  • Process journal entries for credit card transactions and cost distributions.
  • Support audits with AP documentation and reporting.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related field (required).
  • Experience in accounts payable, general ledger reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with different teams.
Pay Details: $24.00 to $26.00 per hour
