Job Description:

The Packaging & Shipping Associate is responsible for accurately packaging products, preparing shipments, creating shipping labels, and ensuring customer orders are shipped to the correct location. This role uses UPS and other shipping software to process small package shipments and requires strong attention to detail when verifying customer information, especially for customers with multiple locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Package products for shipment according to established procedures and quality standards.
  • Create shipping labels using UPS and other shipping software systems.
  • Verify shipping information, addresses, and customer locations prior to shipment.
  • Ensure orders are shipped to the correct site for customers with multiple locations.
  • Inspect packages for accuracy, completeness, and proper labeling.
  • Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation.
  • Use scanners, computers, and related equipment to process shipments.
  • Report shipping discrepancies or issues to the supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety, quality, and operational procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet departmental goals.

Job Requirements:

    Minimum Qualifications
    • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent; or
    • 6 months of work experience in a warehouse, shipping, packaging, manufacturing, retail, customer service, or other entry-level work environment.
    • Basic computer skills and ability to learn shipping software applications.
    • Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
    • Basic math and counting skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Good organizational and time-management skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
    Physical Requirements
    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the workday.
    • Ability to frequently lift, carry, and move packages up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds.
    • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
    • Ability to safely perform duties in a warehouse or shipping environment.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Previous experience with UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, or similar shipping software.
    • Experience in shipping, packaging, order fulfillment, warehouse, or stockroom operations.

    Note: This position does not require forklift operation, pallet handling, or prior shipping experience.
