Shipping Clerk
Location: Orlando, FL 32810
Position Overview:
Under direct supervision, the Shipping Clerk learns and executes a variety of clerical and hands-on duties to support daily shipping operations. Responsibilities include preparing and packaging parts, custom-building crates for larger components, providing order status updates, and assisting cross-functional teams. This entry-level role offers hands-on training across shipping tools, machinery, and logistics workflows.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
Shipping & Order Preparation
  • Learn and execute the accurate pulling, staging, packaging, and crating of outgoing parts shipments.
  • Inspect outgoing items against packing slips to ensure correct quantities, part numbers, and quality control standards before dispatch.
  • Safely build custom crates, pallets, and protective packaging tailored to larger or fragile components.
  • Affix appropriate shipping labels, hazardous material notices (if applicable), and documentation to outgoing packages.
Communication & Support
  • Handle incoming calls from ACS to provide timely status updates, tracking numbers, and details regarding outgoing shipments.
  • Field inquiries from the Technical Service Department regarding order processing, backorders, or urgent shipment requests.
  • Collaborate with team members and logistics carriers to resolve basic shipping delays or discrepancies.
Equipment Operation & Warehouse Operations
  • Safely operate tools and material handling equipment, including:
    • Forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and carts
    • Ladders and elevated platforms
    • Packaging machinery (e.g., stretch wrap machines, strapping tools)
    • Power tools (e.g., nail guns, circular saws) for crate construction
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
Additional Duties
  • Assist with periodic inventory counts and stock consolidation as required.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by Management.
Qualifications & Physical Requirements
  • Experience: High school diploma/GED preferred; prior warehouse or clerical experience is a plus, but entry-level candidates willing to learn are encouraged to apply.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and safely operate power tools and warehouse machinery.
