What is a shipping helper?

Shipping Helpers are workers who assist with the packaging, labeling, and movement of goods in warehouses or shipping departments. They play a crucial role in preparing shipments for delivery by ensuring products are properly packed, loaded onto trucks, and documented. Shipping Helpers may also help with inventory counts, checking for damaged items, and keeping the shipping area organized. Their work helps ensure that customers receive their orders accurately and on time.

What does a shipping helper do?

A shipping helper is an assistant to a shipping clerk, logistics clerk, or warehouse associate. As a shipping helper, you provide administrative and clerical assistance to these workers. Your job duties include ensuring shipments have the proper storage in the warehouse or shipping depot, checking that all merchandise has been prepared to fill an order, and keeping track of inventory and goods at the facility. Your other responsibilities are to file orders and billing documents, handle customer service issues, and prepare packages to ship.

What are some common challenges faced by shipping helpers, and how can they be addressed?

Shipping Helpers often encounter challenges such as handling heavy packages, managing a fast-paced workload, and ensuring accurate order fulfillment. To address these, it's important to use proper lifting techniques, stay organized by following checklists, and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors. Many companies also offer safety training and encourage teamwork, which helps Shipping Helpers work efficiently and safely while minimizing errors.

What is the difference between Shipping Helper vs Warehouse Associate?

Both roles require physical stamina and safety awareness, but Warehouse Associates typically need more comprehensive training and may have more varied duties.

Job description

About Us
At The Pharmacy Hub, we collaborate with pharmaceutical brands, manufacturers, health brands, telemedicine providers, and healthcare companies to deliver essential products directly to patients. Our expertise allows us to seamlessly distribute pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and other healthcare products to consumers, ensuring greater accessibility and convenience.
About the Role
We're looking for a reliable, fast-moving Runner to join our Shipping team. This role is key to keeping our shipping operation running smoothly - you'll be the person making sure workstations stay stocked, materials keep flowing, and daily shipping deadlines get met. You'll work closely with Shippers and Shipping Supervisors in a fast-paced warehouse environment where no two hours look exactly the same.
If you thrive on movement, take initiative without waiting to be told, and enjoy being part of a team that has to hit deadlines every single day, this role is for you.
What You'll Do
  • Restock shipping stations with boxes, coolers, gel packs, labels, and other supplies (~50%)
  • Keep work areas organized, clean, and compliant with safety procedures (~40%)
  • Communicate with Shipping Supervisors and teammates about priorities and operational needs (~10%)
  • Support Shippers by ensuring materials are always available to maintain continuous workflow
  • Follow all company safety procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Help the team hit daily productivity, quality, and on-time shipping goals
What We're Looking For
Required:
  • High School Diploma
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse/shipping environment
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move continuously for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and move packages/supplies (typically up to 50 lbs)
  • 1+ year of experience in a similar role
  • 1+ year of experience in a warehouse/shipping/operational environment

Preferred:
  • Forklift license
Who Thrives Here
  • Fast-paced and action-oriented - moves with urgency without waiting for direction
  • Highly reliable and consistent - shows up on time, every time
  • Team-first, low-ego attitude
  • Calm under pressure during peak shipping hours
  • Detail-conscious - keeps staging clean and orders accurate
  • A self-starter who spots issues and fixes them proactively
  • Comfortable in a high-volume, occasionally chaotic environment where priorities shift quickly
Why Join Us
This is a great opportunity for someone early in their logistics career - whether you're coming from warehouse, retail stock, food distribution, parcel handling, or another hands-on operational role - looking to grow within a fast-moving shipping operation.
  • Location: Davie & Miami Gardens, FL . There is no option to pick the location. Employees must to be ready to work on both locations according to the set schedule.
  • Employment Type: Full-Time
  • Schedule: Monday-Sunday, between 6:00 AM-9:00 PM (5 days/week). Employees must be available to work any shift between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
  • Pay: Starting at $16/hour

Pay Range
$16-$17 USD
Benefits:
  • 401(k) with up to 4% matching
  • Medical, dental, vision and life insurance
  • Paid time off that grows with your tenure
Core Values
