Job description

We are hiring a Procurement Specialist on behalf of our client; a growing organization focused on product manufacturing and supply chain management. This full-time role is responsible for monitoring inventory metrics, handling vendor communication, and maintaining corporate quality assurance and compliance programs. Reporting directly to the General Manager and President, this position serves as a critical bridge between internal operations and external suppliers.

Compensation: $35.00-$40.00/hr

Location: Sterling, VA
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00A - 5:00P

Responsibilities

  • Sourcing: Manage and maintain relationships with current suppliers while working with leadership to evaluate new vendors based on pricing, delivery, capability, and quality histories.
  • Purchase Order Management: Generate, track, and manage purchase orders from the initial requisition phase through final delivery to ensure strict accuracy within budget limits.
  • Cost Optimization: Proactively identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising product quality or overall supply chain reliability.
  • Inventory and Demand Planning: Collaborate closely with operations and production teams to forecast material needs, optimize inventory levels, and mitigate risks related to overstocks or product shortages.
  • Quality Standards Enforcement: Define, communicate, and enforce detailed product quality specifications and acceptance criteria with all new and existing suppliers.
  • Supplier Audits and Vetting: Coordinate comprehensive quality checks and supplier audits to evaluate their manufacturing processes, internal quality control systems, and regulatory compliances such as ISO or UL standards.
  • Incoming Inspection Support: Partner with the warehouse receiving team to establish and refine detailed inspection procedures for all incoming materials and products.

Qualifications

  • Proven professional experience managing vendor relations, procurement workflows, or sourcing operations.
  • Prior background working closely with manufacturing, logistics, production, or warehouse inventory teams.
