Job Summary
Performs responsible technical work involving application development, software implementation and support, radio communications, troubleshooting, and end-user training. Develops, documents, implements, and maintains application software systems across multiple computer platforms, including Intel-based Windows servers and workstations. Serves as a lead analyst for assigned third-party, mission-critical application systems and works closely with software vendors, department leadership, and internal stakeholders to identify technology needs, support organizational growth, improve operational efficiency, and reduce costs.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develops and maintains applications in PHP source and SQL database.
  • Programs, documents, implements, maintains, and supports application software systems across a variety of computer platforms, including Intel-based Windows servers and workstations.
  • Serves as the lead analyst for assigned third-party application software systems.
  • Works closely with third-party software vendors to maintain, troubleshoot, and support mission-critical systems.
  • Troubleshoots application, software, system, and end-user technical issues and provides appropriate resolutions.
  • Supports digital handheld and mobile radio communication systems.
  • Develops training materials and conducts training sessions for users of mission-critical systems.
  • Provides technical guidance and support to end users to promote effective use of applications and technology resources.
  • Meets with Department Heads to understand departmental growth, operational needs, strategic vision, and future technology requirements.
  • Interviews and collaborates with internal stakeholders to identify business requirements, technology needs, and opportunities for process improvement.

Qualifications
Education

Experience
  • Eight (8) years of experience in programming, application software development, or a closely related technical field.
  • Experience working with a variety of automated systems and technologies, including:
    • PHP
    • Windows Server and Windows Workstations
    • Web application development
    • SQL
    • Microsoft Office Suite
  • A comparable combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.

Licenses and Certifications
  • Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License.
