Job description

Position Overview
Hanson Dodge is seeking a Media Assistant to support the day-to-day planning, execution, optimization, and reporting of media campaigns. This entry-level role is designed for a detail-oriented individual who is curious about media, strong with data, and eager to build a career in advertising and marketing.
The Media Assistant will contribute to a wide range of media activities, including plan maintenance, campaign setup, quality assurance, trafficking, vendor coordination, reporting support, and hands-on support within media and analytics platforms. This role provides exposure to both digital and traditional media while learning from a team of experienced specialists and generalists.
Responsibilities
The Media Assistant will:
  • Support the development and maintenance of media plans, flowcharts, budget trackers, timelines, and campaign documentation.
  • Assist with campaign setup, ad specification gathering, trafficking inputs, creative asset coordination, and delivery across digital and traditional media channels.
  • Support traditional media coordination, including vendor communication, RFP organization, insertion orders, proofing, proof of performance and billing reconciliation.
  • Provide hands-on keyboard support in platforms such as Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, DSPs like Basis and Viant, LinkedIn, TikTok, Amazon, and other planning, buying, trafficking, or reporting tools as needed.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure accuracy of campaign parameters, creative assets, tracking, links, naming conventions, budgets, dates, and placements.
  • Assist with basic campaign monitoring, including pacing, delivery, budget tracking, and performance checks.
  • Assist with analytics platform support, including dashboard QA, recurring report checks, data pull validation, naming consistency, and data pipeline maintenance.
  • Help identify and document data issues, missing information, broken links, tracking errors, or reporting discrepancies.
  • Maintain clear project documentation and help keep internal teams aligned on deadlines, deliverables, assets, approvals, and next steps.
  • Provide administrative and coordination support to the media team.
  • Partner with media planners, buyers, analysts, and specialists to streamline workflows and support accurate, efficient campaign execution.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, advertising, business, analytics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfort working with numbers, spreadsheets, campaign data, and performance reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, particularly Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive, collaborative mindset with a willingness to ask questions, learn new tools, and solve problems.
  • Interest in media planning, campaign execution, digital platforms, analytics, and advertising.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Internship or 1-2 years of experience in advertising, marketing, media, analytics, project coordination, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with paid media platforms such as Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, Campaign Manager 360, Basis, Viant, LinkedIn, TikTok, Amazon, or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with analytics or reporting tools such as GA4, Looker Studio, Funnel, platform dashboards, or similar systems.
  • Exposure to media trafficking, campaign QA, reporting, billing reconciliation, vendor coordination, or data validation.
  • Comfort reviewing data for accuracy and helping troubleshoot reporting or tracking issues.
  • Interest in both digital and traditional media channels.
