Qualifications for External Candidates

Customer Service Representative Fueler/Washer: Entry Level

• Greeting our customers and making sure they have a great experience as you fuel and wash vehicles

• Performing vehicle readiness inspections to make sure tires, fluids, and other basic maintenance items are done

• Helping make sure our facilities are clean, safe environments for our customers and associates

• Building your skills through training and hands-on coaching to perform minor repairs such as installing mounted tires, replacing or rotating tires and performing preventive maintenance repairs

• Completing other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Diesel Technician/Mechanic III: Entry Level

• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred)

• Current driver's license class G or class 5 and the ability to obtain class DZ it within 6 months of been hired required

• High school diploma (required)

• Enrolled or completed vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair (preferred)

• Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics

• Doing preventative maintenance repairs-like replacing or rotating tires-and completing vehicle component lubrication and replacement, some electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles

• Partnering with your manager to learn new skills using Penske’s technician training and hands-on coaching

Diesel Technician/Mechanic II: Mid-Level

• 2-4 years of practical experience with tractor-trailer maintenance required

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Enrolled or completed Vocational/Technical or certification preferred

• Will consider candidates with a 310S license/Journeyman or automotive background

• Demonstrate proficiency in the repair and diagnosis of - with some assistance: Engines (gas and diesel), Power train to include differentials, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, PTO's and wheel ends, Electrical systems including starters and alternators, HVAC systems, Steering systems, Electronics to include ECM's, ECU's, sensors etc., Engine bolt on items such as turbos, fan clutches, injectors, cooling system etc., Brake systems including ABS, Suspension systems (spring and air)

• Perform mechanical and general appearance reconditioning of equipment for "trade-ins" and prepare new equipment for delivery.

Licensed 310T Diesel Mechanic/Technician I: Experienced

• 5 years of practical experience with truck and tractor-trailer maintenance

• Must possess respective Provincial License such as Red Seal/310T

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)

• Vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair (required)

• Valid full G driver’s license (must also have or be willing to get an air brake certification)

• Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers

• Doing preventive maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment with little or no supervision and in a timely manner

• Repairing and troubleshooting major components such as engines, transmissions and differentials, including replacing complete assemblies, turbochargers, fuel system components, etc.

• Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
