CAE is seeking a dynamic and experienced Contract Manager / Commercial Lead to join our team as part of the Defence and Security Canada business unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing contract execution, negotiating modifications, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions, and mitigating risks associated with contractual obligations. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of industry standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage contract execution, including reviewing, drafting, and negotiating agreements to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and risk mitigation.

  • Negotiate contract modifications and support commercial discussions with customers and suppliers.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and contractual obligations.

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with contract performance and delivery.

  • Manage contract performance and proactively identify potential issues or disputes to minimize legal and financial impact.

  • Provide contractual guidance and interpretation support to internal stakeholders.

  • Develop and implement procurement and delivery strategies aligned with business objectives.

  • Manage and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers.

  • Analyze contract data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improving contract management practices.

  • Support business development by contributing to strategies that enhance competitiveness, growth, and customer engagement.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the Defence and Security International business unit to support operational and commercial success.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Law, or a related field.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in contract management.

  • Demonstrated experience in negotiating contracts and securing favorable terms.

  • Strong knowledge of contract law principles and regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Ability to communicate complex contractual or legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and contract management systems.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.

  • Financial acumen, including the ability to understand and interpret financial data.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Bilingual in French and English (spoken and written)
