Salary Range: The full pay range for this role is $95,200 to $158,700 annually, and the good faith estimated starting pay for this position upon hire is $115,00 to $134,00 annually. We generally base our salary decisions on factors including but not limited to, relevant work and leadership experience, education, demonstrated performance, internal equity, and in some cases, geographic location.

Scope of Job: 

To support the build-out of EDF power solutions' project portfolio, the EPC Contracts Manager is responsible for managing Engineering, Procurement and Construction ("EPC") contract negotiations and coordinating commercial/legal reviews to ensure timely execution of agreements and provide support to project teams throughout contract fulfillment.

Person must be based in the USA for Remote opportunity.

Responsibilities
  • EPC Contracts Negotiation
    • Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely preparation and execution of requests for proposals, term sheets, exhibits, and other related contract documents.
    • Coordinate and collaborate with legal, engineering, procurement, construction, commercial, risk management, tax, accounting, and other key stakeholders during EPC contract negotiations.
    • Lead commercial negotiations and RFP discussions with counterparties.
    • Lead commercial meetings with reviewing and finalizing EPC contract exhibits and other related documents.
    • Review, evaluate, and address counterparty's commercial comments and provide recommendations to key stakeholders.
    • Develop and implement procedures for the timely handover of executed agreements to internal teams.
    • Maintain version control of EPC contracts, exhibits, and related documents.
    • Draft and negotiate commercial terms and conditions in the EPC contracts
    • Prepare fully compiled execution versions of EPC contracts and other contracts; and
    • Provide contract support for project execution teams during the construction phase.
  • Contracts Management
    • Track commercial decisions across EDF power solutions' project portfolio to maintain consistency throughout EPC contracts and other contracts.
    • Establish and maintain processes to provide uniformity and efficiency in contract negotiations.
    • Consult and collaborate with other departments on how upstream/downstream contract terms affect construction contracts/activities; and
    • Maintain contract templates and contract library, including exhibits, master services agreements, and EPC contracts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervision of Others: None.

Working Conditions:

100% of time is spent in the office environment, with frequent use of various Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A minimum of five years' experience in contract negotiation and contract management preferably in the utility-scale renewable energy, or power generation industry
  • Extensive experience in negotiating, reviewing, and editing complex Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) agreements specific to utility-scale renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and energy storage systems.
  • Capable of managing numerous, challenging work assignments simultaneously (with attention to detail) under pressing deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and willing to work extended hours when necessary.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, by openly communicating, actively listening, challenging ideas and processes, and setting reasonable expectations to achieve the best possible outcome. This includes the ability to effectively advise colleagues and team members on commercial risks and issues.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills.
  • Team player with the ability to work well with colleagues and team members to foster creativity and leverage individual strengths.
  • Superior decision-making and problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to exercise sound business judgment.
  • Experience with project or contract management software such as Procore, Malbek.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related discipline.
  • Law degree is a plus (but not required).
  • Legal background in either a law firm or corporate setting is preferred.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Ability to conduct negotiations and find solutions in a constructive manner.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with respect to conflicting interests.
  • Strong sense of ownership and responsibility, a strong work ethic, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be detail oriented and demonstrate excellent organizational skills, including the ability to deal effectively with competing priorities and deadlines, and handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment; and
  • Excellent oral, written, and MS Office Suite (Word) and document control skills.
