Job Description

This position serves as an entry level college student position working in the TEM department.  This is a part-time temporary position. The Technician will assist all areas of the laboratory with administrative and basic laboratory tasks. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to cleaning and maintenance of equipment, sample handling and login, sample preparation, and general administrative tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

       Regular attendance and punctuality

       Assist with quality control administrative tasks

       Receive customer correspondence and direct the information to the appropriate personnel

       Prepare samples for analysis

       Log in client samples

       Stock laboratory supplies

       Maintain, clean and prepare glassware and other laboratory equipment

       Assist with special projects as needed

Qualifications

Basic Minimum Qualifications (BMQ)

Education/Experience (BMQ):

Pursing an Associates or Bachelor's degree in physical or life science.  

Ability and/or Skills (BMQ):

Strong computer, scientific, organizational and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivated, and a positive attitude

Handle moderate stress

Detail oriented

Ability to follow instructions and comply with SOPs

Effective communication (oral and written) and attention to detail

Adaptability to work in varying laboratory environments

Additional Information

Requirements:

  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
  • Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English

Position is part-time, temporary working up to 20 hours/week. 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Cary, NC are encouraged to apply. 

Pay rate: $16/hr
