CONTACT LENS ASSISTANT

Division: KYCO Department: Academic Affairs Experience: Entry-level

Start Date: 8/25/2025

Assist with maintaining contact lens inventory, processing student data, preparing supply kits, and supporting lab operations. Ideal for students interested in optometry or pre-optometry fields.

Responsibilities and Career Competencies:

  1. Inventory supplies and create list for restock - CSD
  2. Inventory contact lens fitting sets, scan for reorder, place orders as needed for lab - CSD
  3. Maintain google document of student data and assist with processing for CL orders for the lab - CSD, T, CT
  4. Create and maintain supply kits for use in lab - CSD, T
  5. Check in lenses and label them - T, CSD
  6. Keep track of lenses and supplies ordered - P, T, C
  7. Assist with ancillary testing as needed - C, P, CSD, CTR
  8. Clean, disinfect, inspect, verify and maintain contact lenses - CSD, T, CT
  9. Sort and assign students to lanes for workshops and labs using excel or google sheets - T, CSD, CT
  10. Interact with workshop/vendor organizer in preparation for special events - P, T, C, L

Work Conditions: Normal office environment.

Physical Demands: Keyboarding, pulling up to 30 lbs, lifting and carrying up to 10 lbs.
