Job description

Job Summary
The Corporate Laboratory Technician is an entry-level position. Once trained, you will be responsible for executing tests to monitor quality of products throughout the Company per established methods and lab practices, in a professional manner following all health and safety rules.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Execute testing per lab procedures and policies manual
  • Use the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), workbooks or Certificate of Analysis to log in samples and record test results.
  • Assist in coordination and execution of routine and project sample testing.
  • Report off-quality findings to Lab Manager.
  • Maintain, operate and validate instrumentation with a thorough knowledge of functionality of equipment.
  • Follow directions and Standard Operating Procedures accurately.
  • Communicate special testing/sample needs to other divisions within the company.
  • Fulfill customer proposal requests.
  • Knowledgeable of company products and specifications; knowledge of office functions, UPS procedures, sample logs, result archiving and retrieval and ordering lab supplies.
  • All other duties as assigned by Lab Manager.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must have successfully completed some college-level coursework in science and math.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Word, Outlook & Excel.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior laboratory experience.
  • Prior LIMS experience.
  • A demonstrated ability to focus on and manage detailed methodologies in a multitasking environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Demands
  • Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
  • Frequently lifts up to 20 lbs. Occasionally, push, pull, move, or lift 50 lbs.
  • Regularly required reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment
Job functions will be carried out in a lab or plant environment.
