Data Center Material Handler | Houston, TX

Nexeo HR is hiring Data Center Material Handlers to support a global logistics and supply chain company’s high-tech data center in Houston, TX. Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading of inbound and outbound freight to and from vehicles and containers including the management of shipping documents and records
• Assemble and install computer hardware, server components, and cabling following detailed schematics and diagrams
• Perform quality inspections on materials, verifying part numbers, quantities, and component condition
• Conduct inventory cycle counts and track spare parts, PPE, and departmental supplies in warehouse management systems (WMS)
• Process returns and ensure accurate documentation and data entry in Excel and other internal tools
• Use laser measuring tools and precision instruments to align and position server racks
• Operate material handling equipment (pallet jacks, straddle stackers, rack movers) safely and efficiently
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for builds, documentation, and safety compliance
• Collaborate with logistics and build teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and quality in all processes
• Support other departments as needed through cross-training and continuous improvement initiatives


Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in data center operations, IT hardware assembly, electronics production, inventory control, high-volume logistics, or similar environment
• Hands-on experience building, assembling, or repairing computers or servers
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Google Workspace
• Familiarity with inventory management tools (SAP, RF scanners, or WMS) preferred
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow technical instructions and diagrams
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for extended shifts
• Reliable transportation and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-tech environment
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Must pass a 10-year national background check and pre-employment drug screening


Pay

$21.00 per hour


Schedule

Full-Time | Day Shift | Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Must be willing and available to work overtime as needed
