Campland on the Bay is a full-service, destination RV resort. Located in the Pacific Beach neighborhood of San Diego, we occupy 40 prime acres on Mission Bay just east of Crown Point. Our groundskeepers are vital to Campland's and Mission Bay RV Resort's success. They ensure our 700+ campsites are timely maintained, cleaned and ready for our guests. Good first impressions matter and our groundskeepers are critical to this achievement.
Ideal candidates will have entry-level lawn care or maintenance experience, like to work outside, have reliable, consistent attendance, a professional attitude, follow directions and safety rules, and complete assigned duties on time and at the level of quality specified. On busy days we may have several hundred guests checking in on the same day as several hundred are checking out. That means our groundskeepers are hustling!
On any given day, you’ll do some or all of these tasks:
  • Remove worn, scorched or damaged fire rings and replace them with new ones
  • Make new fire rings (we’ll show you how)
  • Remove damaged picnic tables and replace them
  • Clean picnic tables
  • Remove trash from trash containers, pick up trash and dog poop from campsites, remove ashes from fire rings
  • Trim weeds and grass, rake and remove leaves and other debris
  • Control pests
  • Bring lost or abandoned property to Lost and Found
  • Assist our guests, usually by giving directions, answering questions, or guiding them to the right department or person for help if you can’t solve their problem or concern
  • Follow our safety policies and procedures
  • Use various hand and yard tools to perform your job
  • Other maintenance department tasks as directed by your supervisor or the department manager
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Entry level lawn care or maintenance experience
  • Follow directions
  • Consistently show up on time for all assigned shifts; attendance is an essential job function
  • Well-kempt personal grooming
  • Able to lift, pull or push 50 pounds
  • Current, valid driver license and clean driving record
Work Environment
Nearly 100 percent outdoor conditions with daily exposure to direct sunlight, hot and cool temperatures, dust, plants, pollen and insects.
Physical Requirements
Bend your knees and at your waist, crouch, lift, grasp, push or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds, sit, stand, walk, talk, hear and see.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This a full time, hourly position working 40 hours per week. Must be available to work on holidays and weekends.
