Job description

The Financial Analyst I provides financial reporting, analysis, and business support to Hologic's Operations and Supply Chain organization. Working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Quality partners, this role helps track cost performance, maintains inventory controls, supports budgeting and forecasting, and delivers the insights that guide sound operational decisions. This is an entry-level finance/cost accounting role well suited to someone early in their career who wants hands-on exposure to operations finance within a global medical technology company.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Support the monthly close process for Operations cost centers, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare and analyze standard cost, inventory, freight, and manufacturing variance reports to identify trends and cost drivers.
  • Assist in developing annual budgets and periodic forecasts for Operations spend.
  • Track and report on capital expenditure (capex) and construction in progress (CIP) activity, including project spend versus budget, monthly CIP roll-forward and asset placed-in-service review.
  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Quality teams to track key performance indicators and cost-savings initiatives.
  • Prepare monthly management reporting packages, including variance analysis versus budget, forecast, and prior year.
  • Support physical inventory counts and cycle counts, including reconciliation of results.
  • Assist with internal controls, SOX compliance, and audit requests related to inventory and cost accounting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and drive efficiencies through automation and standardization.
Qualifications Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field required.
  • Zero to two years of relevant experience in financial analysis, accounting, or supply chain finance; internship experience considered.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial modeling.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or JD Edwards) preferred.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Hyperion) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative mindset and comfort working cross-functionally with Operations and Finance teams.
Onsite (in Newark, Delaware office 4x/week) Additional Info:

The annualized base salary range for this role is $53,800 to $84,300 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
