Job description

Aviation & Missile Solutions, LLC. (AMS) is seeking a talented Electrical or Computer Engineer to join our diverse team, in Huntsville, AL., to create unique solutions for complex problems. AMS provides responsive, cost-effective engineering and scientific solutions ranging from air and missile defense technologies, command and control, radar systems, seekers, modeling & simulation, and prototype hardware development and testing.

Position Description:

The Engineer or Analyst in this role will perform the following:

  • All-source technical intelligence analysis of foreign threat systems with a focus on multi-function phased-array radars and surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems. Analysis efforts involve system performance assessments and design postulation of major subsystems including but not limited to phased array antennas, transmitters and receivers, advanced radar signal processors and computer algorithms/logic.
  • Threat system model development to match intelligence assessments, including waveform scheduling, correlation/tracking and signal processing.
  • Write technical briefings, papers and reports to reflect intelligence analysis and assessments of foreign threat systems.
  • Ensure foreign threat systems are accurately characterized and modeled in technical databases such as the Electronic Warfare Integrated Reprogramming Database (EWIRDB).

Basic Qualifications (required):

  • Good people skills and the desire to work with a highly technical team of engineers and scientists.
  • MATLAB proficiency preferred.
  • Candidate must be able to comfortably interact with and present to customers, coworkers and management on a regular basis.

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

  • Resident of the Huntsville, AL area or be willing to relocate.
  • Software development skills in object-oriented programming principles preferred but not required.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Graduating GPA of 3.5+

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel up to 10% of the year.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 30-40 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.

Security Requirements:

  • Citizenship: Candidate must a US only citizen.
  • Clearance level: possess (and be able to maintain) a Final TOP SECRET/SSBI Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Final TOP SECRET Clearance.
