There are many facets to all our projects,ย from this position we will need aid in facilitating the needs and requirements ofย aย project so that we, as a team, are efficient and productive.
Job Summary:
Engineer Iย is an entry-levelย engineer-in-training (EIT) position designed to support ongoing civil engineering projects by assisting with design, planning,ย surveying,ย and inspection activities. Reporting to a licensed engineer, this role provides foundational experience in project development, technical calculations, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and committed to upholding ethical and safety standards.
Jobย Responsibilities:
  • Assist with basic design tasks, including preparing civil engineering plans, specifications, andย designsย for projectsย includingย roads, water systems, sewage, & stormwater infrastructure.
  • Becomeย proficientย in Carlson AutoCAD. Thisย will likelyย requireย additional externalย resources, such as Carlson Academy,ย and someย self-disciplineย to learnย theย basicsย of the program. ACAI Engineering will also consider compensation forย outsourced training classes.
  • To facilitate advancementย inย yourself and your career,ย we would like you toย obtainย yourย Professional Engineering License after your 4-year requirementย is met. We recommend that youย take your P.E. and F.E. beforeย gettingย that 4-year mark.
  • Conduct field activities such as site inspections,ย surveys, soilย testing, and data collection in compliance with sound engineering principles.
  • Prepareย plansย throughย theย reviewย ofย specificationsย from the governing government agencies.
  • Perform calculationsย to analyze project parameters such asย detention pondย calculations, flow rates, andย pipe sizing.
  • Maintain accurate records of project activities. This can include, but is not limited to,ย email organization, field observations, properย computer filing, construction costs, and status reports.
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders,ย participateย in project meetings,ย cost estimates,ย and communication efforts.
  • Follow ethical standards, safety procedures, and promote professionalism and respect within the work environment.

Jobย Compensation & Details:
  • This position will be primarily based out of our office to facilitate planning, team building, and a better understanding of our resources and services.ย 
  • This is a salary position that is paid out weekly.
  • CE hoursย willย be paid for by the company provided prior approval was given.
  • ACAI Engineering will pay forย theย first PE & FEย exam. We will also provide 2ย paidย days off forย each of the exams (day before and of the exam).
  • The employee is responsible for providing transportation to the home office on each workday. If work-related travel is necessary, ACAI Engineering will provide a vehicle for use. If a vehicle is unavailable, ACAI Operations will reimburse mileage at the federal rate per mile.
