Job description

BioView is seeking a highly professional customer focused Field Service Engineer to join our Support & Training team. The successful candidate will live in the Boston, MA area and serve as a support and training engineer for our clients in the Americas. He/She will provide our new and existing customers comprehensive training of the BioView imaging products line. He/She will be responsible for providing prompt support to our users, while achieving the highest possible level of customer satisfaction. He/She will maintain a high level of technical expertise in all aspects of the BioView products, including the biological, computerized and optical features of our products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Installation of BioView systems at customers sites

· Training of new users to successfully operate the BioView systems & software

· Demonstrating BioView systems and applications

· Provide remote and on-site support to BioView customers by installing, fine-tuning, and maintaining BioView systems and applications.

  • The position requires diagnosing and resolving mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures
  • You will document all activities, contribute to quality improvement, and focus on maximizing customer satisfaction
  • Frequent travel required, 60-70% of the time, mostly within the US & Canada, but may be to other regions on the globe

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in life science, biomed, or a technical field
  • Familiarity with Microscopy, Cytogenetics, Fluorescence In-situ Hybridization (FISH), Cell Morphology, and Immunostaining analysis is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem solver with good technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Computer and network knowledge is a plus
  • Ability to understand computer algorithms and to tune parameters.
  • Outstanding ability to explain, demonstrate and present new biological and technical concepts to new users

  • Willingness to work outside of normal working hours and in rare cases on weekends
