Assistant Buyer

  

Reports To:

Assistant Manager and/or Supervisor, Purchasing

Dept:

Purchasing

Job Description:

Pay rate $25.00 per hour

Assists in the purchasing activities based on the directions management of Purchasing Department. Assistant Buyer’s job includes some of, but not limited to the following:

    1. Issue request for quotations
    2. Price negotiation, delivery and quality
    3. Prepare price comparison sheet, delivery and quality
    4. Making price and delivery control sheets
    5. Expedite material delivery to meet the KRC/KHI/KMM production schedules
    6. Coordinate FAI or PSI, etc., together with QA Department
    7. Monitor receipt of materials which includes incoming and outgoing
    8. Issue Purchase Order by using SAP or other company computer system(s)
    9. Proactively monitor invoices and report to Purchasing management.
    10. Process rejected/damaged/shortage material
    11. Document control functions such as filing, copying, etc.
    12. Interface between purchasing and suppliers, vendors and other departments
    13. Greets and provides hospitality to visitors and guests
    14. Ability to translate Japanese into English, and vice versa is preferred.
    15. Communicate with various departments at Kawasaki Heavy Industries (“KHI”) and Kawasaki Motor Manufacturing (“KMM”) is required.

Qualifications:

Required to possess a HS diploma or equivalent, Bachelor degree is preferred.  Entry level experience or minimum of 1-2 year experience. Must have excellent organizational and communication skills.  Must be proficient in Excel and Word. SAP experience a plus. Shall have capability of handling small accounts vendors.
