Located in Franklin Indiana, Airtomic Ducting Solutions is a growing ducting aerospace solutions provider. Position Summary:

The Bench Mechanic I is a key member of the manufacturing team in a high mix, lower volume environment, reporting to the Operations manager. Airtomic is an FAA Repair Station, this position performs all required pressure testing and cleaning of all aircraft engine components as defined in the engineering process routing. Read and understand routing instructions are critical to ensure product safety. The position is entry level in the production process, leading to training in duct and metal fabrication and repair. The ideal candidate enjoys problem solving, working in a fast-paced environment and self-directed.

Key Position Responsibilities:

  • Acts proactively supporting safety at all times. Safety is ALWAYS first
  • Position is up tempo and very detail oriented
  • Operate a product clean line
  • Air and water pressure test integrity for all required tubes, ducts & manifolds
  • Bead blast product as required
  • In process visual inspection to a check fixture
  • Ensures products adhere to quality standards
  • Ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues
  • Ability to adapt, communicate, be decisive, be dependable, and take initiative.
  • Ability to communicate and interact with coworkers
  • Ensure hazardous materials are properly labeled, stored, handled for proper disposal.
  • Polishing and basic blending of product
  • Assist packaging & shipping when production peaks
  • Serve as a backup to deliver parts locally via the company van
  • Retrieve fixtures
  • Ensures products adhere to quality standards
  • As required, performs work assignments as directed

Required qualification / Education / and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of this position
  • Ability to organize priorities, daily tasks and complete actions on time, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong work ethic and leadership ability
  • Must be able to show proof of legally ability to work in United States
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Must be able to pass FAA drug screen and background check

Physical Demands:

  • Light to moderate physical effort required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.

Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, and move about the facility

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aerospace / Defense industry experience a plus
  • FAA A&P certificate is a strong plus
  • Read and interpret blueprints and approved technical data
  • Experience working in a manufacturing facility
  • Experience working with hand tools
