Job Summary

The Analyst is a member of the Corporate Accounting team within the Finance department of WEC Energy Group's (WEC) WEC Business Services business unit. The Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial results, providing actionable insights through variance analysis, and supporting the allocations, budgeting, forecasting and regulatory compliance processes. 

The Analyst is part of a job family (Associate Analyst, Analyst, Senior Analyst) and experience will be the determining factor. 

Job Responsibilities
  • Participate in quarterly and annual commission reporting including preparing financial statements, facilitating processes and providing detail to internal and external auditors
  • Participate in the development of O&M budgets, evaluate monthly and year-to-date variances between budgeted/forecasted and actual expenditures
  • Prepare and enter journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and maintain complex spreadsheets
  • Assist with the calculation of allocations and affiliated interest agreement compliance
  • Apply knowledge of interrelationships in processes and utilize problem solving skills to recommend improvements to processes
  • Work independently, handle multiple responsibilities, and prioritize effectively
  • Incumbents will conduct increasingly complex assignments depending on level
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree with accepted majors of Accounting, Finance, or closely related
  • The Associate Accounting Analyst is an entry level position and internship experience is preferred
  • The Accounting Analyst must have a minimum of 18 months relevant experience
  • Understand aspects of accounting theory and financial statement classification
  • Independent, mature and professional worker and analytical thinker with an ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve increasingly complex problems
  • Ability to demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail, a strong initiative and results -orientation are critical
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with SAP and SAP BW
  • Experience with financial statement preparation, commission data requests and audit experience
  • Graduate degree in a business discipline or CPA
  • 2+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance Roles
  • Regulated industry experience (e.g. utilities)

Pay Range Minimum:  $59,510.36 

Pay Range Maximum:  $118,053.26 

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.  At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
