Job description

Title: Quality Engineering Specialist
Location: Oxford, MS

Salary: $103,300+ depending upon experience
Schedule: On-site Daily
 

 Focus: The Quality Engineering Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring our products meet the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for overseeing quality assurance processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategies to enhance product quality. Your work will help us achieve our goal of exceeding customer expectations and maintaining our reputation for excellence.

Quality Engineering Specialist Essential Job Functions:

  • Create and maintain comprehensive quality assurance procedures while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. 
  • Lead and participate in regular audits of production processes/products to identify and address any deviations from the standards within Winchester and at supplier's facilities.
  • Serve as liaison between supply chain, customer, operations, engineering, and business teams to ensure that products are built and delivered in accordance with customer specifications.
  • Collect and analyze data to prepare detailed reports on quality performance metrics.
  • Review supplier submitted certification packets for compliance with Winchester and customer requirements, including military standards and specifications. 
  • Interface professionally and effectively with others (internal and external) in resolving supplier complaints and/or issues. 
  • Lead and participate in supplier root cause/corrective actions activities to drive closure.
  • Work closely with engineering, production, customer, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Lead projects aimed at enhancing product quality and process efficiency.
     

Quality Engineering Specialist Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree*; Technical degree preferred.
  • Minimum of ten years full-time manufacturing experience in a related technical role.
  • Experience in quality audits and regulatory compliance; ISO 9001:2015 certification preferred.
  • Experience in continuous improvement and efficiency projects. Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP).
  • Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple projects and prioritize workload.
  • Prior Winchester experience in a similar role preferred. 
     

Location-Specific Requirements: 

  • This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. 
  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
