Job description

Responsible for acting as a key member of the engineering team and working closely with all departments within product manufacturing to ensure that all engineering and other technical requirements are met, and that any problem or issue is communicated and remedied quickly and accurately. This position is also responsible for managing, monitoring, and overseeing new and existing projects through the entire scope of the manufacturing process by performing the following duties.


  • Manages and monitors entirely new products and programs awarded to PMC of significance, with exclusions that may include detail components or small packages not requiring program management resources.
  • Ensures PMC production planning is accurate, up to date, and represents the processes required to produce products on a “repeat basis” without concern.
  • Develops objectives by reviewing project plans.
  • Completes technical studies by studying plans and specifications and calculating time requirements.
  • Prepares engineering cost estimate and status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, and by recommending actions.
  • Works closely and in cooperation with quality control, engineering, and document control on quote updates, revision changes, corrective action measures, and engineering changes.
  • Works hours required to successfully accomplish all job-related issues, and minimizes days or hours missed during standard business working days.
  • Demonstrates the authority to stop any production order for quality concerns.
  • Reviews the Product Configuration Control Information (PCCI).
  • Reviews the Bill of Material (BOM) for products.
  • Reviews planned operation support requirements, which includes tooling and venders.
  • Participates in continuous improvement projects.

Preferred Education/Experience:

Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate of Science degree in Engineering, Physics, or equivalent experience.

  • Ability to read and understand technical documents, drawings, and specifications
  • Strong CAD skills and proficiency in CATIA V5
  • MRP system proficiency
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing methods and procedures, and process improvement
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • CATIA V5 skills
  • Familiarity with the customer’s specifications
