Job description

This is a project design position that supervises and coordinates the phases of design, releases and testing for Landoll Trailers. Initiates specification, schedules, testing programs, procedures, methods, and required equipment for design development. Approves product designs and prototypes.

Interfaces with other major segments of the business and provides leadership to engineers, designers and test engineers. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Executes engineering design programs and establishes program schedules and goals, estimates production costs and program cost and introduces cost reduction programs. Establish product specifications, features and design objectives.

Assists in project coordination with sales, management, marketing, manufacturing and engineering in developing product programs to satisfy customer requirements. Conduct feasibility studies as needed to reveal idea practically, potential problems and specific revisions. Assist management in the creation and generation of marketable ideas for new and revised products.

Responsible for drawing package and bill of material for design, tooling, manufacturing and/or rework of products. Represent engineering design Product Development meetings to express that all projects receive proper attention and are being done properly and timely. Assure quality, reliability, safety, cost and performance objectives for designs are established.

Keep abreast of new design, manufacturing and material development. Develop and monitor assigned portions of the engineering budget. Coordinate product transfer and follow up design requirement when design goes from engineering to test to pre- production and full manufacturing.

Interface with other companies to introduce product into the engineering system that was designed by another firm. Prefers candidate with Pro E experience. Working in a safe manner will be demonstrated at all times.
