Job description

Senior Engineering Manager – MANTA Software Engineering (Onsite)

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is looking for a Sr. Manager, Software Engineering, with a passion for engineering and the desire to lead an innovative, dedicated team responsible for industry-leading Assured Positioning, Navigation and Timing (APNT) products within the Multi-domain Assured Navigation & Timing Applications (MANTA) portfolio. The team is responsible for architecting, designing, developing and testing real‑time embedded navigation and timing solutions for military applications.

What You Will Do
  • Lead and mentor staff across all phases of the software engineering life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, integration, verification and formal configuration management.
  • Provide direction for software capability development, integration of software onto target hardware, issue troubleshooting and resolution, and support field demonstration and integration efforts.
  • Manage resource allocation, overall administrative activities, and employee engagement, coaching, mentoring and performance management.
  • Oversee onboarding, training and career development activities for the team.
  • Promote agile software development practices within the team.
Qualifications – Must Have
  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 10years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 7years of experience.
  • Candidate must hold or be able to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.
  • Ability to travel domestically as needed.
  • Proven experience in the software development life cycle and Agile methodologies.
  • Strong verbal and written technical communication skills.
  • Experience leading a diverse engineering team.
