Job description

Job Summary:

  • We are seeking a Manufacturing Quality Control Engineer to support the implementation of Smart Torque Tool systems across manufacturing plants in North America.
  • This role will focus on evaluating existing assembly processes, developing quality control plans, validating torque processes, and supporting deployment activities to improve manufacturing quality and traceability.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manufacturing quality systems and enjoy working onsite in plant environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct onsite manufacturing line assessments and evaluate current torque processes.
  • Develop quality control plans for transitioning from conventional to smart torque tools.
  • Identify tool requirements, quality checkpoints, and process improvements.
  • Support implementation, validation, and commissioning of smart torque tooling systems.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and IT teams during deployment activities.
  • Assist in troubleshooting quality and process issues during rollout.
  • Support process documentation, training, and compliance activities.
  • Monitor implementation effectiveness and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing quality or process engineering.
  • Strong understanding of quality control methodologies, PFMEA, control plans, and process validation.
  • Experience in assembly manufacturing environments.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across North America.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with torque tools, smart tooling, or industrial automation systems.
  • Familiarity with MES systems and manufacturing traceability concepts.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
