This position is for a Security Operations Supervisor (Team Lead) and focuses on delivering the security strategy and industry best practices at our Ford Energy facility in Glendale, Kentucky.

You'll have...

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 6 years' experience in law enforcement or military.  
  • 4 years' experience leading and developing teams.
  • Highly motivated, hands-on, self-starter with ability to think creatively and operate in a dynamic, ambiguous environment.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills (soft skills).
  • Ability to multitask, strong problem-solving, and conflict management skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, team building, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to:
    • Establish priorities under changing conditions.
    • Exhibit calm, rational behavior under stressful conditions.
    • Administer duties and responsibilities with accuracy and attention to detail.

What you'll do...

  • Supervise security operations for Ford Energy, including staffing requirements, access control, CCTV monitoring, investigations, and emergency support.
  • Supervise a team of direct and matrix reports.
  • Oversee day-to-day security operations, including contract security personnel. Enforce the Service Level Agreement with the provider, including identifying and escalating performance issues.
  • Enforce the security manual, bulletins, and protocols to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with risk assessments of sites to determine if the operational model is adequate for site integrity.
  • Respond to security incidents, including medical, behavioral, trespassing, accidents, suspicious activity, thefts, etc. Escalate appropriately to the Site Security Manager and/or Regional Security Manager.  
  • Assist with special projects and security initiatives, including GAO audits, daily plant walks, etc.
  • Develop monthly security awareness communications to be provided to employees.
  • Identify and escalate physical security gaps through proactive security initiatives.
  • May perform the role of Incident Commander for emergencies.
  • Enhance emergency response capabilities by utilizing incident response tools and through the deployment of emergency response equipment for the company or local municipalities.
  • Collaborate with People Matters, Human Resources, Labor Relations, and Safety representatives as necessary to discuss and resolve workplace issues.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal skill teams to ensure unified alignment with all security-related matters.  
  • Collaborate with appropriate internal Ford skill teams and external work partners to plan for and provide security coverage for special events.
  • Track and compile team metrics; using data to drive decision-making and security strategy. 
  • Act as a liaison with local, state, and federal agencies. 
  • Assist in security for VIP visits. 
  • Protect company classified information with confidentiality.
