Job description

Our Team

We have an exciting role in joining our amazing Energy Efficiency Team. As an Energy Efficiency Consultant working as part of a highly motivated team, you will drive residential customer engagement in retail, recycling and online marketplace programs as well as identify existing and new technologies that support energy-saving solutions for customers throughout our tristate service territory. Through your regular interactions with external stakeholders, energy efficiency contractors, engineers, and internal teammates including marketing and regulatory compliance, you will accomplish residential sector energy saving goals and help lower the state's carbon emissions.

The role can be based in Berlin, CT, Westwood, MA, or Manchester NH.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive strategic activities and the nurturing of relationships with manufacturers, distributors and retailers of energy-efficient products to enhance supplier-driven programs.

  • Manage the integration of activities between the customer, program administrators, advisory consultants, and vendor/contractors.

  • Prepare RFP's for the development and execution of Request for Proposals in order to help procure program administration vendors.

  • Develop documents and plans necessary to meet compliance with regulatory filings and oversight of customer funded Energy Efficiency programs.

  • Participate in the budgeting, invoicing, evaluation, analysis, and tracking of expenses and energy savings; assists with the development of RFPs for contracted services.

  • Maintain strong financial controls through program processes and ensure follow through on program design commitments.

  • Provides directions to business partners, such as contracted vendors, and/or technical project expertise to customers and coordinates available resources specific to the procurement and installation of energy efficient measures, strategies, and systems.

  • Responsible for review and approval of moderately complex projects/programs, which require an understanding of engineering analysis/calculations, implementation strategy for new technologies, or energy simulation modeling.

  • Manages the integration of activities between the customer, program administrators, advisory consultants and vendor/contractors.

  • Develops documents and plans necessary to meet compliance with regulatory filings and oversight of rate-payer funded Energy Efficiency programs.

  • Ensures that all projects and programs are accurate and in compliance with regulatory guidelines - reviews project documentation and program applications to confirm all required and supporting materials is provided in order to fulfill program participation parameters

  • Facilitates achievement of energy efficiency goals by promoting demand-reduction initiatives to assigned customers/customer segments and/or programs.

  • Partners with Energy Efficiency colleagues across sectors/channels, including Energy Efficiency Sales Account Executives, in order to set an energy efficiency implementation path and strategy for customer participation and energy efficiency program implementation.

Technical Knowledge/Skill:

  • Requires ability to interpret energy efficiency / renewable technologies and services and understand their application. Requires solid understanding of financial principals and the ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g., Microsoft Word and Excel).

Education:

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

Experience:

  • Requires a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in technical marketing, sales, project management, engineering, architectural, or energy efficiency. Experience and/or aptitude in customer service also desired.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.

  • Flexible to be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.

  • Work is primarily performed in an office environment which requires a combination of personal computer and telephone work as well as field visits to customer and construction sites.

  • HYBRID SCHEDULE: Eversource supports work-life balance by offering hybrid schedules for certain roles. Eligibility is based on job responsibilities, operational needs, nature of work and team dynamics. Current guidelines require employees to workat least three days in the office, includingTuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. These guidelines apply to roles approved for remote work and are subject to change, based on managerial discretion and work performance. All applicants must be able to workup to five days in the office if needed (for example: emergencies, training, or other business needs) or should the policy change.
