Job description

Willdan Lighting & Electric, a division of Willdan Group Inc., is seeking an Energy Efficiency Auditor.

Energy Efficiency Auditor responsibilities include prospecting for eligible customers, conducting energy assessments, developing solutions for lighting and other measure as identified, presenting proposals to customers, and selling projects by completing necessary documents for Energy Efficiency Programs associated with the Maryland Office. The Energy Efficiency Auditor will travel up to 50% of the time throughout Montgomery, Frederick, and Carroll counties in Maryland. This position will be eligible to obtain commission in addition to an annual salary.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct outreach and education to targeted customers and schedule energy efficiency assessments.
  • Assist management staff to quantify energy savings, financial savings and other customer benefits.
  • Effectively sell projects.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, vendors and subcontractors.
  • Work in cross-functional teams including program support as needed.
  • Perform lead follow ups, go to sites for customer meetings, evaluate facility, and develop a sales quotation for the project, this requires use of a step ladder.
  • Meet or exceed set sales goal per month.
  • Engagement in all geographical areas critical to program success.

Job Requirements / Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks to ensure timely delivery of high-quality deliverables.
  • Demonstrate ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders while delivering excellent customer service in a highly dynamic growth environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, evolving, entrepreneurial work environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Must be flexible to visit customers, utilize a ladder and sell on daily basis.
  • Ability to travel up to customer sites and come into the office as needed.
  • Ability to obtain an OSHA 30 certification (Training provided).
  • Required to attend in-person sales team meetings as directed by supervisor.
  • Local travel in Montgomery, Frederick, and Carroll counties required.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time or more depending on needs to meet or exceed monthly goals.
