  • Represent clients in proceedings before administrative agencies such as the EEOC, labor boards, and state education authorities.

  • Manage all phases of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, and settlement negotiations, with a focus on public-sector employment law.

Strategic Counsel & Advisory Services
  • Advise school boards, superintendents, and HR leadership on compliance with Title IX, ADA, FMLA, and California employment laws.

  • Develop proactive legal strategies related to employee discipline, hiring practices, labor disputes, and risk mitigation.

  • Provide guidance on union relations, collective bargaining agreements, and teacher tenure matters.

Policy Development & Compliance
  • Draft, review, and update employment policies, handbooks, and compliance documentation.

  • Conduct employment law compliance reviews and wage/hour audits.

  • Ensure alignment with federal, state, and education-specific employment regulations.

Training & Client Education
  • Deliver training programs for administrators and HR professionals on employment law compliance and best practices.

  • Lead workshops on anti-discrimination, harassment prevention, and managing unionized educational workforces.

Qualifications
  • Experience: 10+ years of exclusive employment law defense experience.

  • Industry Focus: School district defense experience required; public entity defense experience is a plus.

  • Litigation: Strong employment litigation background; trial experience preferred but not required.

  • PAGA: Extensive experience handling PAGA matters.

  • Compliance: Experience with employment law compliance documentation, handbooks, and wage/hour audits.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctor from an accredited institution.

  • Bar Admission: Active member of the State Bar of California in good standing.

  • Skills: Superior research, analytical, negotiation, written, and oral communication abilities.

  • Location: Must be based in California.

  • Professional Approach: Commitment to proactive case management and client-focused service.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Base Salary: $175,000 – $230,000 (commensurate with experience).

  • Bonus: Performance-based bonus eligibility.

  • Billable Hours: 1,150 annually.

  • Caseload: Approximately 15–25 active matters.

  • Work Arrangement: Fully remote (California).

  • Benefits: Competitive benefits package aligned with senior-level roles.
