Primary Purpose:

The primary purpose of this position is to support the Benefits and Compensation team while gaining valuable experience in Total Rewards. Through meaningful projects and day-to-day business exposure, the intern will learn about employee benefits, compensation programs, wellness initiatives, data analysis, and employee communications that help attract, retain, and support team members across the Love's Family of Companies.

Job Functions

  • Assist the Benefits and Compensation team with day-to-day projects and administrative activities.
  • Support the collection, organization, and analysis of benefits, compensation, and workforce data.
  • Assist with market research and benchmarking related to employee benefits and compensation programs.
  • Help prepare reports, presentations, spreadsheets, and other materials for team meetings and leadership discussions.
  • Support employee communication efforts by assisting with benefits, wellness, and engagement materials.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of open enrollment, benefits fairs, wellness events, and other employee programs.
  • Research industry trends and emerging practices related to benefits, compensation, and employee well-being.
  • Coordinate and organize project information from internal business partners and external vendors.
  • Handle confidential employee and business information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Gain exposure to health and welfare benefits, retirement programs, compensation practices, and Total Rewards strategy.
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned that support the Benefits and Compensation team.

Experience and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Currently enrolled in a four-year university program, Junior level or above.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
    • Human Resources
    • Business Administration
    • Related field
  • Previous internship or work experience preferred but not required.

Skills and Physical Demands

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Computer skills including use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to interpret and present data in a meaningful way.
  • Requires prolonged sitting and computer use.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
