Job description

Exciting opportunity to join Vanguard's Active Fixed Income Group as an Emerging Markets Debt Trader, identifying and executing trades and supporting the portfolio management process across rates, credit, and currency markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiates and executes trades for fixed income managed portfolios. Maintains relationships with security dealers. Authorized to invest cash flows across markets and act as portfolio manager with a lower level of discretion. Maintains targeted exposure across rates, currency and credits with focus on maintain consistent strategic positioning across portfolios. Manages portfolio cash.

  • Develops, evaluates, and acquires models for analyzing investment strategies. Analyzes data and develops trading and portfolio strategies with oversight. Generates ideas and research in conjunction with the credit research team and independently.

  • Monitors performance attribution. Identifies relative value relationships and contributes to investment decision making processes.

  • Identifies, recommends, and develops process and operational improvements. Develops strategies to add value through efficient execution and quantitative research.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Five years related work experience, including four years fixed income investment management experience. Fixed income trading experience strongly preferred

  • Undergraduate degree in an analytical discipline with a knowledge of economics or equivalent combination of training and experience required.

  • CFA preferred.
