• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to evaluate the emotional and psychological needs of senior clients, utilizing evidence-based assessment tools.
• Facilitate individualized and group therapy sessions, focusing on themes such as coping with bereavement, managing life transitions, and addressing age-related concerns.
• Engage actively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to create and implement comprehensive treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each elderly client.
• Provide educational resources and guidance to family members and caregivers on promoting emotional well-being and improving the quality of life for older adults.
• Administer grief and loss therapy to assist clients and their families coping with end-of-life issues, enhancing their emotional resilience.
• Integrate cognitive stimulation techniques and mental health strategies to boost cognitive function and mental acuity among the elderly population.

In this role, you will primarily work with senior clients who may be dealing with various mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, grief, and other age-related issues. Your expertise in geriatric mental health will be invaluable as you provide compassionate care to this vulnerable population, helping them navigate the complexities of aging and maintain their mental health.

• Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification.
• A minimum of four years of recent experience providing mental health counseling services, specifically within the geriatric population.
• In-depth understanding of evidence-based practices and interventions tailored to the needs of older adults.
• Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills for fostering relationships with elderly clients and their families.
