Ouachita Mental Peer Support Clinic is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) specializing in addiction counseling. This position operates in a fully remote setting, allowing counselors to provide vital services from the comfort of their own homes while still remaining connected to a supportive team environment. Our work hours are structured to support a healthy work-life balance, with a typical schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. You'll be equipped with the necessary technology and resources to conduct virtual therapy sessions, ensuring continuity of care for our clients.

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients to identify their individualized care needs.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that address the emotional complexities associated with aging, including grief and loss, anxiety, and depression.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop holistic and tailored care plans that consider the mental, emotional, and physical health of clients.
• Educate staff and family members on improving seniors' emotional well-being through workshops and informative sessions.
• Implement cognitive stimulation and therapeutic programs aimed at maintaining mental acuity and supporting healthy aging.
• Utilize evidence-based practices to support seniors facing a range of mental health challenges, ensuring adherence to established therapeutic protocols.

Our primary client population comprises seniors grappling with various mental health challenges exacerbated by aging, such as bereavement, life transitions involving health and mobility, and other age-related concerns. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will play a pivotal role in guiding these individuals through their emotional struggles, providing a supportive empathetic presence, and fostering resilience through targeted therapeutic interventions.

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A current Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) license in New York.
• A minimum of four years of relevant experience in psychiatric counseling and mental health support.
• Proficiency in conducting thorough assessments and developing individualized treatment plans.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to cultivate trust and rapport with elderly clients.
• Strong empathy and cultural sensitivity to effectively assist clients from diverse backgrounds.

• Additional training or certifications in geriatric mental health or addiction counseling.
• Experience with family systems therapy, grief counseling, and cognitive-behavioral therapy.
• Familiarity with digital communication tools for remote therapy sessions and case management.
