Position Overview

The Mind Full Counseling Center is seeking an experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with a specialization in geriatric care to join our dedicated team. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments of senior clients to identify individual care needs and mental health challenges.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions focusing on emotional wellbeing as it relates to aging, including adjustments to lifestyle and coping with grief.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to establish and implement personalized treatment plans and care strategies.
  • Educate family members and caregivers on the emotional and psychological needs of seniors, fostering supportive environments for elderly clients.
  • Offer specialized grief and loss counseling to individuals and their families dealing with significant end-of-life issues and transitions.
  • Implement cognitive stimulation activities to enhance mental acuity among elderly patients, adapting interventions to individual capabilities and needs.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on seniors, specifically addressing their unique mental health needs stemming from bereavement, significant life changes, and age-related challenges. Our services are tailored to provide empathetic support for clients from diverse cultural backgrounds, ensuring that treatment reflects their individual life experiences and perspectives. Your day-to-day interactions will involve close engagement with clients during therapy sessions, resulting in a profoundly rewarding environment as you help them navigate their mental health challenges.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
  • A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) license.
  • A minimum of 4 years of recent experience in geriatric mental health counseling, demonstrating a deep understanding of the aging process and associated challenges.
  • Expertise in utilizing evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to elderly populations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a capacity to create meaningful connections with senior clients and their families.
Preferred Experience
  • Additional certifications or training focusing on geriatric mental health and aging-related issues.
  • Experience providing counseling services in a range of outpatient settings.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems and other relevant counseling software.
  • An extensive understanding of ethical and legal standards in mental health practice, particularly relating to elder care.
Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this role ranges from USD 80,000 to 100,000 per year, accompanied by a competitive sign-on bonus as well.
