Job description

Job Overview:Embassy Suites Georgetown is seeking an PM Restaurant Server(s) become an integral part of our team. You will take orders and serve food to patrons at the dining establishment. Remain attentive to patron dining experience, accommodate special requests and exceed service standards as established by the restaurant. Completes all restocking and cleaning duties by performing opening and closing side work as instructed. Controls allocated guest checks by following established check-use procedures and legibly documenting all required information as the customer's order is taken and processed. Receives proper payment from guest and ensures accuracy of guest check and method of payment to safeguard customer and company. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions:
  • Ensure that all food and drink orders from customers are accurate and brought to each table in a timely manner
  • Recommend appetizers and meals to customers based on the menu and specials
  • Work closely with restaurant management to immediately address all customer concerns and create a pleasant dining experience
  • Confirm orders with the chefs and bartenders whenever a clarification is requested
  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging services
  • Take and expedite drink orders quickly and accurately; serve refills upon request
  • Consistent restaurant presentation- utilize appropriate stemware/glassware as required by company standards, polish glassware, stock bar supplies to par levels, etc.
  • Assist with setting tables and rearranging tables to accommodate larger parties
  • Follow cash handling and POS procedures
  • Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes.
  • Follow responsible alcohol service
  • Follow departmental policies and procedures
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • High school degree or equivalent; or relevant work experience
  • Must have 1-2 years' experience in high volume, luxury lounge or restaurant
  • Must have 1-2 years' hospitality experience working with high profile clients
  • Meet minimum age requirement of jurisdiction.
  • Experience providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
  • A positive attitude and ability work well under pressure with bussers, cooks and other staff.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and deliver orders in a timely manner.
  • Strong knowledge of wines, spirits, champagnes and
